The Burmis Tree

The Burmis Tree - Panoramic Horizontal Images
Limited edition of 50 prints in sizes of 30" and above.

"The Burmis Tree, icon of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, stands beside the highway near the once prosperous coal mining and lumber town of Burmis. Hundreds of years old, the Limber Pine finally lost its needles in 1978. This image was taken before sunrise looking east – I positioned the sun behind the base of the tree so it appears like the light is emanating out of the tree itself."
